“The Horror of Realization” is the follow up album by California metal-core outfit Scars Of Tomorrow to 2004’s “Rope Tied To The Trigger”. The band has had a lot of success since signing on to Victory Records and has toured with some big names such as Atreyu, Norma Jean and Unearth along the way.
Honestly to me this album sounds just like the last release and the singers voice still is not doing anything for me. There are some good aspects to this record suck as the guitar work, which is pretty impressive and can hold its own. Scars Of Tomorrow experimented with some ambient noises this time around, which is pretty cool, but do not fit in with their style at all. Matt Bayles produced the effort so you know it sounds great. There is also a guest appearance on the album from Atreyu vocalist Alex Varkatzas, which should be exciting for all the Hot Topic shoppers out there.
You can tell I am having a difficult time writing a review for this album so I am going to make this short and sweet. I just cannot find anything I like about this album and can’t get into it at all. But Scars Of Tomorrow will do fine with this release as this metal-core sound is real popular right now, but my tastes are just a bit different.
