Offshore started as collective cauldron for the creative output of five North Carolina teenagers. Chris Adam (vocals, guitar), Matt Lackey (guitar), Dave Herron (Bass), Pete Howell (drums), and Adam Cole (conga drums and dub effects)pull from an eclectic mix of influences including The Police, Sublime, NoFX, The Decendants, Bob Marley and an entire range of artists from the reggae, punk, and hip-hop genres. Offshore blends these sounds together to create a style with upbeat guitar skanks, dirty distortion, liquid bass lines, and drumming that's right on time.
Formed only three months ago (don't be fooled by the short tenure), Offshore wasted no time and quickly began recording a studio demo to showcase and distribute their musical style ,and with the completion of the demo, have secured shows in the Charlotte and Greensboro areas with respectable local acts. The have gained exposure through such websites as www.Garageband.com, and have placed in the top ten downloads on www.heysherman.com. Offshore has also been featured on www.sicrecords.net , an online music magazine which uncovers the latest and greatest in the hardcore / punk / and rock underground.
Tentatively working on reaching a local audience of kids who just want to hear a good song, Offshore is currently aspiring to meet new faces and travel to different places along the way. They would like to attract the attention of a dedicated fan base sharing their good nature with some fellow music connoisseurs. |
